Timothy Grant is an Emmy-nominated writer/producer whose screenplay BAIT NIGHT won Best Thriller/Horror Feature in the Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Contest and was a Drama and Horror Feature Finalist in the Austin Film Festival Script Competition.
Professional script consultant Rob Ripley described BAIT NIGHT as “…one of the most original scripts that’s come across [his] desk in the past couple of years... with equally strong execution and a real, budget-conscious eye.” The Black List described it as “a smart, focused thriller that has intelligence at every turn.”
His one-hour original pilot HEL(L.A.) was a Semi-Finalist in the Austin Film Festival AMC One-Hour Pilot Competition and made the Top 100 for the Tracking Board Launchpad Pilots Competition. One AFF reader raved: "We are supposedly living in a new golden age of television greatness, and it's hard for a specific show to pull away from the pack. But this feels like something that would surprise viewers in the best possible way, bringing them back week after week, episode after episode."
BUZZ KILL, a horror-comedy homage to the "final girls" of the great (and not so great) horror films of the last 40 years, was described by The Black List as "a cinematic, confidently-written horror comedy that functions well as a biting genre satire with a fiercely contemporary sensibility" and "an intelligent, fiercely modern spec that manages to successfully contribute a vital sentiment to the horror comedy genre."
In 2020, he co-created PANDEMIC PLAYHOUSE, a children's puppet show, with Ibba Armancas. Filmed according to strict CDC guidelines during the height of the shutdown, the show earned an Emmy nomination.
In addition to writing, Timothy enjoys writing bios in the third person, traveling with his husband, eating three squares a day, and spoiling his precious cats Bubble and Squeak (don’t judge!).
Timothy Grant lives in Hollywood and is represented by Ramses IsHak and Michael Sheresky of United Talent Agency.
